After one of his drivers murdered someone in central London last year by deliberatly driving over them, we have this: London Evening Standard - 26/07/2010 “DON'T mess with my drivers” is the message from the boss of minicab firm Addison Lee, after one was accused of nearly taking out a pedestrian on a zebra crossing in Knightsbridge. After her near miss, a hitherto fan of Addison Lee wrote to John Griffin by email about her experience, complaining that no one she could speak to on the phone seemed remotely concerned. To her astonishment, he wrote back to the woman, with the immortal line, “Rosie, get a life ...” “Complaints about a driver that do not include enough information to identify the vehicle are just wasting valuable time,” he continued. “My staff appear to have the same view. Would I have sacked the driver on your evidence? Probably not, in fact, definitely not.” When contacted by the Londoner, Griffin, who starred in C4 series The Secret Millionaire, reiterated his feelings. “She should get a life,” he said and dismissed her concerns as “too silly for words”. Rosie Dalling, who works at the Donmar Warehouse, says the email was not “the caring and apologetic epistle I was expecting.” Griffin insists that the company looked into the incident but there were 30 to 40 drivers in the area and that the details were too sketchy. “If we were all shaken up by all the near misses there are in Oxford Street all the time, you and I would be having a heart attack. Our safety record is fantastic and I always stick by my drivers who I know, and who are trained and responsible. I don’t know anything about this woman.” |

Someone that cocky is surely heading for a big fall after all the laws on corporate responsibility might just land him in court one of these days if his drivers keep on taking out pedestrians ! |

You obviously believe in Karma edders. I wouldn't hold my breathe tho some people can fall in a barrel of sh*te and still come up smelling of roses
