Crazed cabbie Derrick Bird's house up for sale 3/10/2010 Cumbria killer Derrick Bird's house will be sold quickly at a knock-down price - so that his family and the community can move on. The home is being auctioned for just £35,000 - half the cost of others on the same street. And the buyer will get all the mass murderer's possessions in the house for free - including his snorkel and flippers. But the property is covered in grime throughout. Bird's large black television remains in the front room, close to a ramshackle old gas fire. The main bedroom has newspaper cuttings on one wall - one of a semi-naked man in a thong and black leather jacket. There is also a secret third floor hidden behind a cupboard door. Outside the mid terrace, the garden is overgrown and appears to have been abandoned. Colin West, of Cumbria Auction House, said: "Completion will be quick. That will help the family and community move on." Loner Bird, 52, shot himself dead after murdering 12 people - including twin brother David - in Cumbria in June. He died without making a will and left £105,000 to his two sons. Source; http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-storie ... -22604815/ |

He didn't kill himself in that house so I can't see there being a problem with people wanting to live there. There was an old lady round here who was murdered in her own house by her neighbour who had a screw lose, the house was run down and in a right mess when she was found dead by the Police. 12 months later the house has deen re developed and let out to a family. They've got to know what happend in the house because it's a close knit community where houses back onto each other. Story can be read here. http://www.chad.co.uk/news/hilda_owen_m ... r_1_706804 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... ioner.html http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... house.html https://www.nottinghamshire.police.uk/n ... ppeal_for/ Neighbours are going to be tripping over themselves to tell the new people in the house what happend if they don't already know. |
