I hear from a reliable source, that a certain Cabby, one who is on this site most days, has taken it upon himself to advertise the price of a taxi from Haymarket Station to the Airport on the Airport bus stop sign. For those of you not aquainted with the local geography, the Airport bus stop is right outside the Haymarket taxi rank. Well done that man, it's about time that the public learnt that the fare is cheaper in a taxi than a bus, if there is 4,5, or 6 travelling. I'm sure that will generate more work for us. I hope he has a supply of stickers as I'm sure Lothian Buses will be removing it when they find out.

Bus is £3.50 a scull, taxi is usually about £13 on rate 1 and £14 on rate 2.

You know George. I've seen that sign you were talking about, and a number of guys were getting work through it. It's just a pity some [edited by admin] from the bus company removed it. I can't help but get the feeling it is sure to return in the very near future.

I wonder who would do such a thing?

I remember it well, had a nice cup of hot chocolate at the Starbuck (I think) there.

TBH it seems strange that folks would get the bus to the airport there as it's the same price as the City centre.

That would make a good story for the local press.

Good one that. To keep stickers there post them just away from the bus stop.   I do like the idea.

I keep telling the lads round here, if you see someone waiting at a bus stop pull over and say "run you into town for your bus fare"? If there's 3 of them waiting @70p per person £2.10 for nothing.
