Tommy Sheridan IMO has been totally stiched up, having followed his trial from day 1 it was clear that the witnesses at the Civil Case in 2006 have Perjured themselves, this was admitted by Bernard Ponsomby BBC Scotland Court Reporter, he has attended both trials and stated that the same witnesses totally contradicted themselves and in his book that is Perjury. Now, if you have faith in our antiquated Legal System then more fool you, it has been proved in the past that the system needs a complete overhall but nothing gets done due to cost.. So what chance does the Taxi Driver fighting for his rights have? You are up against it with the Local Authorities (councils) for a start before you even attempt to hit the courts and when you do hit court the one with the Financial muscle ultimately wins as you are trousered financially and have to give up eventually. Just ask anybody that has been through an Employment Tribunal. It's not about rights and wrongs its about who's got the most money to last the pace!!! CEC has deep pockets because it is public money and they dont give a [edited by admin] how much they spend even if they now their case is weak... Well that's a rant out of the way... a different subject but in someways there is a connection...anybody else feel the same |

Heard an interesting radio conversation about this today with a Scottish lawyer. He asked why the police take perjury from a civil trial so seriously, but ignore criminal perjury. He makes a very good point IMO. |

To quote a criminal Lawyer in a case where I was a witness, “this is a court of Law son, no one tells the truth in here”. The prosecution witnesses were all lying to get a conviction. Whereas the witnesses for the accused were all lying to get him off. The guy was being stitched up, and I don't think there was a solitary soul telling the truth anywhere in the court. The guy got off so you could say, at least on this occasion, Justice was served. You really had to see it to believe it. If anyone had believed in truth or justice the guy could have been sent down.

No. What does/did behind closed doors with consenting adults is his business, as long as it wasn't illegal, which it wasn't! But he did get 200k from the news of the world after lying in court. That is illegal! I think papers like the NOTW are sleaze and should have no place in the media but they were reporting the trurthful facts (in this case anyway). He sued them, won and it's been proven that he's a lying c*nt as said earlier Therefore he gets everything that's thrown at him |

The two things our courts and legal system cannot abide are 1. Perjury, 2. Conspiracy and 3. Perverting the course of justice, as these set out to bypass a true and fair trial, hence both are deal with severely, basically he LIED - on oath, before god and the jury, hes a LIAR, he will get what hes due (and lose the £200K hopefully), instead of blaming the paper he should blame himself he could also have kept his big bragging gob shut, or was he seeking a confession in that DIY video?... hope he likes porridge |

For me I don't care what Tommy did or didn't do. What grips me is the SP members selling out to Murdoch. Even if they hated Sheriden, or was jealous of him, they set back the working class movement a hundred years. Even the Mafia has higher standards of honour that these scum. They should hang their heads in shame. |

Jim, I agree with your assesment of Murdoch & the N.O.W., and I would have been happy if he had won. His "Best Man", was as Sheridan says,"A Rat", and what he done was despicable. The main problem I've got is that if he had won it would have suggested that 15 of the SSP were lying. I don't know all 15, but I do know Colin Fox, and I can assure you He's a decent and honourable guy, just like Sheridan used to be. Tommy made a daft mistake, but by trying to shaft that "Scumbag Rag", he was prepared to tarnish, (wrongfully), his comrades. I hope he comes clean about the whole affair, (maybe make a few quid for his wife & bairns, with an exclusive in that same said Rag), and ease his conscious. |
