Aberdeen taxi firm goes bust leaving debts of £50,000

Axe Taxis under investigation over assets transfer

AN ABERDEEN taxi firm is undergoing investigation after it went bust leaving behind debts of more than £50,000.

A sheriff ordered Ace Taxis Ltd, whose offices were at Wellington House, in Wellington Street, Aberdeen, be wound up after a petition by creditors.

It was understood the directors of Ace Taxis transferred the company’s assets to a new firm – Aberdeen Cab Company – before Ewan Alexander, of chartered accountants Ritson Smith, was appointed as liquidator.

He said today: “The circumstances of the transfer is currently under investigation.”

An Aberdeen Cab Company spokesman today said: “This is a matter for Ace Taxis and the liquidator and it wouldn’t be appropriate for us to comment.”
