Age limit for Hyndburn taxis all set to rise TAXI drivers in Hyndburn will be able to operate older vehicles as part of a new trial scheme. Currently a private hire vehicle must be less than five years old when it is first registered for use. But a new initiative will see that rise to seven years, in a bid to aid drivers. But the council said that new vehicle testing procedures will improve safety and standards for passengers. A spokesman said: “It is proposed to increase the maximum age at which vehicles can be registered from five to seven years.” http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/ |
