Not sure about Article 8 of the convention, it's about a right to privacy.

But the tenet that Fife board set a precedent by agreeing the Licensing Act had created a technical anomaly in theoretically allowing boards to “act as judge and jury” by calling then also deciding review cases is an interesting one.

The CGSA operates in the same way. Particularly in respect of licence suspensions.

The Act does not allow punishment suspensions yet the council persists with them.

This also needs to be challenged.

What we need is for someone stiffed by the RC to be prepared to let us support them so they can fight the case on their own behalf as a party litigant, without the expense of a lawyer.

Such an individual would need to have a strong disposition and be able to articulate the argument.

Don't know about pub licensing, but the topic headline certainly doesn't apply to Fife Council's taxi licensing.

As far as I can tell most of the restricting Scottish councils operate the same essentially corrupt practices in relation to taxi licences, ie Fife, Perth and Kinross, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Renfrewshire, Dundee and Aberdeen and quite a few others.

And you can quote me on that.

Caledonian Cabbie, that is
