Carlisle man raped after getting into taxi

21 March 2011

A man has been arrested in connection with a male rape on the outskirts of Carlisle.

A 26-year-old man was sexually assaulted after getting into a taxi in the city centre early on Saturday.

The attack happened just off the A69, in an area known locally as Edmond Castle lay-by.

A 40-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape, and later bailed until 12 May pending further inquiries.

This story has developed since that article first appeared.

One guy gets into a cab on Satuarday morning wanting to go to a certain village.

Another guy pops up and says he's going there too, they should split the fare.

The driver drops them off at a place known for, and I had this word described to me today because I had images of canals and countryside in my mind......known for cottaging.

The next thing we hear is a cab driver has been arrested for basically raping another guy.

Which of course doesnt appear to be the case.

Oh dear........it would appear the first story I heard was allegedly incorrect and the driver involved is subject to a section 52 and in front of licensing tommorrow :shock:

The mind boggles as to where they get the words from to describe what they're doing. Why would you want to have sex in public anyway or do they just mean outside?
