I think we should have a section for gutless cowards and Uncle Tom's. Regardless of what you think of me, only a complete numpty would relinquish his right to be treated equally before the law, and at present, Taxi Drivers have no RIGHTS or PROTECTIONS afforded to them under the HRA, or the CGSA. The CGSA, is used as a weapon to keep people servile, while the HRA is seen as some sort of quaint notion of having rights but only if you are prepared to fight to have them implemented. Gutless Cowards and Uncle Tom's List. Captain Cab (Wayne Casey) Frank Lay (anon) LongshanksED (anon) Grandad (anon) Toots Anyone else?

It matters not a jot, and that's the point. I can no more prove my innocence than the complainant or the council can prove my guilt. There are no established facts to this case. However, this is the way you want it to be, is it not?
Ask yourself why you think it is a good idea not to have rights or protections when faced with an allegation from a member of the public or anyone, for that matter, then perhaps you can explain it to everyone on TDO?

Is it not my/your right to defend myself against an allegation? (whether its true or not) Were you not given the chance to defend yourself or refute the allegation? (whether it's true or not) If you were given the chance to speak, surely your rights haven't been compromised! Who made the complaint? Passenger? Member of public you passed? Member of the police/ traffic warden? You don't want to make the allegation against you public. OK. That's your right. But the less you give the more guilty you look. It's akin to going for a job interview and on your CV there is 3 years blank. If you leave them blank the interviewer presumably thinks the worst, like you've been in jail and don't wish to disclose it! |

You mention above that you have no rights under the HRA? I think you'll find we told you that last week, and if you weren't such a thick c*bt you could have spoken to the committee or cab inspector or someone else and possibly resolved the issue. Never mind.....there's always McDonalds. CC |

The CEC doesn't have a leg to stand on, and I can't wait to see how they defend their responsibilities under the HRA. I know for a fact and can prove they are not remotely interested in the rights of taxi drivers. Oh and btw, I now know all about this guy who made the complaint and his connection to the cab trade. He's a very naughty boy, but never mind, it'll all come out in the wash. I think Inspector Frank Smith was a little over zealous in his little chitchat with this clown.

Once upon a time driving a taxi was seen as a step up from working in McDonald's or selling the Big Issue, but now I'm not so sure. I would probably put McDonald's in the lead with the Big Issue second with Taxi Driving not even in the running. Uncle Tom's have all but killed this game.

You mention HRA....again....but you dismissed it earlier when you posted.....Taxi Drivers have no RIGHTS or PROTECTIONS afforded to them under the HRA Interesting
