Parking space theft angers disabled driver

A DRIVER has called for a crackdown on motorists illegally using disabled parking spaces in Muswell Hill.

Pensioner Ms Ross, who suffers from crippling arthritis, was ticketed after parking in a taxi space.

She claims she was forced to park there as all disabled bays outside Sainsbury's in Fortis Green Road were taken.

The pensioner from Lynmouth Road was hit with a £40 fine in January. She told Broadway: "They do not understand that if I do not park outside every step that I walk I am in considerable pain. One of the spaces taken was by two young people without a blue badge who came bounding back to their car hand in hand. It makes me angry."

Her case has been taken up by Hornsey and Wood Green MP Barbara Roche who has called for the fine to be waived.

The law is the law.
