| Post subject: | Need Sickness Benefit Help |
Hi i was recently admitted to hospital and got out after a week but wont be able to work for another week or 2 and was wondering if anyone, was able to help with any info on any benefits that i might be entitled to, i am a self employed private hire owner. I have asked around and no-one seems to know so if anyone on here can point me in the right direction it would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for any help |

Thanks in advance for any help If your NI contributions are up to date you will get a grand total of "NOTHING" for the 2 weeks you are off. If your lucky you'll get £100 for the 2 weeks. |

You might be entitled to a crisis loan, but only if you are intending to join the ranks of the full time unemployed, other than that don't hold your breath.

theres NO SSP for the S/E if you were a PAYE (NMW) employee of your own Ltd company theres 28 weeks at £70 on the table.... Statutory Sick Pay Most employees get Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) from their employers when they are unable to work as a result of illness. SSP can be paid for a maximum of 28 weeks. Spells of incapacity separated by 8 weeks or less count as one. For the first seven days of incapacity a patient completes a self-certificate: Quote: SC2 – used if they are in employment and the employer does not have their own self-certification forms. The employee gives the form to their employer.
