Capital taxi firm launches iPhone app Central Taxis in Edinburgh has launched its very own iPhone app. The app is available for customers to download from the taxi firm's website and allows customers to make bookings instantly, enter favourite pick-up addresses, view and rebook previous journeys and track taxis in real time using an interactive map feature. Central Taxis worked with Cordic to create the app and install a new £1 million data despatch system, which will ensure customers' calls are dealt with more efficiently. Each of the company's vehicles will also have a state-of-the-art GPS tracking system installed. Bill Purnell, chairman of Central Taxis, said: "We have decided to invest in these new technologies because we want to make sure that our customers' needs are always met and exceeded. "We look forward to hearing any feedback our customers may have. I am sure that the app will become a firm favourite for all those who use it."
