Taxi Driver Wins At Grosvenor UK Poker Tour London Cabbies Takes Down £50,000 In Walsall

May 02, 2011

London taxi driver Alan Mansbridge has won the £1,000 buy in Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Walsall main event beating 171 opponents to take home the top prize of £50,000.

Mansbridge was the short stack the night before and hadn’t even booked a hotel for the next night such was his lack of confidence in progressing.

He beat Martin Holmes heads up after six hours at the final table having the chip advantage and using it to good effect when he slow played a flopped straight to get most of his opponents chips.

The final table payouts were:
1: Alan Mansbridge — £50,000
2: Martin Holmes — £34,830
3: Simon Deadman — £21,930
4: Danny Toffel — £13,330
5: Nick Hicks — £10,320
6: Ryan Spittles — £8,170
7: Benjamin Jenkins — £6,450
8: Adrian Eley — £4,730
9: Craig Burgess — £3,440

Couldn't fill it up with Diesel though, could he ?

Actually saw my 1st Vito 113 the other day. Don't think they are exactly flying off the shelves. Any news on the leasing plan ?

Dunno.

I know Com Cab ordered about 20 to lease out to their established drivers for £250 a week including circuit fees.

I've seen a few now, they seem popular with the airport faces.

I'm out of the brand new cab game until at least Nov 2012 now, I'll review the choice then.
