Beware the ‘lightmare’

Published on Saturday 11 June 2011 11:23

I’ve been doing night shift as a London cabbie for the last 38 years. I have seen all sorts of changes.

The most noticeable is the strength of vehicle headlights. They are now getting so bright, that even my fare-paying passengers are making comments about them.

One of them suggested that I do a petition, so I have! Boy! have I had some votes – last count was 3,807 from across the world!

Included in the signatories and comments are 103 doctors, three professors, and over 500 driving instructors.

It’s about time the Government started to realise that allowing vehicle manufacturers to produce lights to blind each other at night is not road safety – it’s a lightmare!

I wonder if your readers could help me by taking a look at the website at all the information which is on it, and deciding for themselves to vote and leave a comment on our {E Petition}. Search for: www.lightmare.org.

I’m taking a stance on this – now who’s going to help me!
