Is this a case of the Merc not being what London cabbies want, or a sign of the financial times? :?

The TX4 is still selling for around £33K for the fully loaded version.

The Vito is £42K and is already fully loaded.

A lot of drivers won't look beyond the price tag for starters. But they will if the VM engine seizes outside the warranty period at 100K + miles, and a bill for £5k appears on their doorstep.

However, the 'new' Euro 5 compliant TX4 goes on sale in a few weeks with a price tag of £36K.
I'd rather pay the extra £6K for the Vito.

But it's good news for me, as I suspect the Vito will have to be discounted, or have a rather attractive APR with the finance package.
