The reason the NHS use our trade is because we are cheaper, we don't get paid if we are sick, no holiday pay, the maternity/paternity pay, we don't have zillions spent on Human Resources etc etc.

We are all fully checked, as are our vehicles, so it's shameful that this union is having a pop at the money spent by the NHS on our trade. [-X

Just wait until some poor soul dies in one of those Ambulance cars and the insurance company don't pay out.

Right I'm going to throw the cat among the pigeons here.

My brother in law works for a private ambulance service based round here called Gibsons, from a distance they look the real deal but, when you get closer to them and look inside there's nothing in them, no oxygen nothing.

Gibson's have a contract around Birmingham transporting patients from their homes to hospital appointments in Birmingham then back again. My brother in law does this work for them and travels from Mansfield to Birmingham in the Ambulance and back everyday along with his workmate, neither of them have got Ambulance driving experience, all they have is the basic of First Aid training.

They get paid from the moment they clock on until they clock off which can be a 14 hour shift by the time they get back to Mansfield. They get paid very well indeed well above the National Minimum wage plus there's weekend working to for the Health Trust in Birmingham.

Gibsons have a fleet of private Ambulances doing the above work for Health Trusts around here plus they are all geared up to make massive profits.
