Now that Aberdeen's licensing board has at last started to see the plight of the average taxi driver and is now in the process of digesting the survey from the Napier University, it's a shame that in the City of Dundee the driver's are still waiting in limbo.

Dundee in the past 10 to 12 years have usually followed Aberdeen's policy's regards taxi licensing, I await with baited breath to see if they also do in this case, going by the views of the licensing Chairman for Dundee which I might add are more than well known, maybe we will have to hope his committee make him see the light as to the plight of the Dundee taxi driver.

Common Mr Wallace let bygones be bygones & do the right thing.

And I might add the sooner the better.

If Aberdeen can do a survey with a mixed fleet why cant you?

Anyway, as these things go there's actually some reasonably good analyses in the report - in the small parts that I've read, at least - but since the document uses the word taxi generically to cover both sides of the trade at some points but at other times uses the taxi to mean what's a HC in England and Wales, then if they can't even get basics like this right then what price the rest of the document? The dreaded 'private hire taxi' oxymoron also puts in an appearance :shock:

As far as I know the correct legal terminology in the Scottish legislation is 'taxi' and 'private hire', and the term Hackney Carriage has no legal status.

I know that in England and Wales there's inconsistency between different sources, but this report pertains to Scotland, and even if it didn't then the same source should at least be consistent.

Mr Wallaces view is EWTA taxis only across the fleet then they will look at a capped fleet
