In My opinion, Jackie Leven, who died on Monday aged 61.

Founder member of Doll by Doll who recorded four albums in the seventies and early eighties that wer largely ignored by the general public. I saw him perform in Lincoln at the Duke of Wellington a few years ago as a solo artist an unsurpassed accoustic set. Search out the album "Caritas" or a track from it called "Main travelled roads" Just brilliant. A sad loss. Even Gordon Brown, who went to school with Jackie was a longtime fan. Obituary in the daily telegraph 17/11/11.
