Settle down ladies, settle down: Get a load of Mr December!

“Got anything smaller, mate…?”

… is what cabbies normally say when a large note is flashed in front of them for a small fare.

But, in all fairness, the same phrase could be applied to viewing some of the de-clothed drivers stripping naked for a new calendar.

And we are referring to their spare tyres (in an anatomical sense), not anything else.

The twelve London black cab drivers featured in the 2012 treat are hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity by stripping naked.

Available from www.gettaxi.co.uk, the nudey efforts are in aid of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust – picked by the cabbies for its work promoting personal safety.

Selected from hundreds of taxi after GetTaxi issued a call out to cabbies using its new app, the brave buffsters were all snapped with nothing more than their favourite London street sign to hide their modesty.

The app lets people book a black cab and has numerous female safety features built in including the ability to see the driver’s picture, name, mobile number and reg number as well as track it in real time on a map from a Smartphone.

The calendar also coincides with the announcement of London’s new female safety initiative, the ‘Closed Door Policy’ also launched by GetTaxi. All GetTaxi drivers have pledged to wait until female passengers are safely behind closed doors before leaving the drop-off address.

For the shoot’s grand finale, all twelve were photographed together in public in a group shot - taken in front of hundreds of surprised tourists and commuters opposite Tower Bridge!

“We couldn’t have picked a colder day for it either, which didn’t help for more than one reason.

“I was pretty nervous to start but I’m proud to have taken part and to have done my bit for charity –now I’ll have to just wait and see if any of my passengers recognise me with my clothes on.”

Presumably they weren't the ones objecting to minicab licensing then? :?
