New scheme to praise or report taxi driversNEW stickers asking 'How's my driving?' could be introduced in district taxi cabs so passengers can praise drivers or alternatively report problems.
Warwick District Council issues licenses to cab drivers and wants to make it easier for the public to get in touch with feedback on the service provided by cabbies.
The sticker would show contact details for the council and that vehicle's plate number.
Council licensing officer Emma Millward said: “A lot of people don’t know where to find the plate number on the vehicles and/or know who to contact if they have any issues with a journey.
“These stickers would provide both our contact details and the plate number in an obvious position.
"However, we’d also like to be able to pass positive comments on to any drivers, as a thank you and also hopefully a morale boost for them.
“We will need to take this before the Regulatory Committee first before we can introduce them but hopefully these will be agreed.”
All drivers licensed by Warwick District Council are issued with a badge displaying their photograph and licence number which they must wear. If the driver does not have a badge people are advised never to get into the car.
