New scheme to praise or report taxi drivers NEW stickers asking 'How's my driving?' could be introduced in district taxi cabs so passengers can praise drivers or alternatively report problems. Warwick District Council issues licenses to cab drivers and wants to make it easier for the public to get in touch with feedback on the service provided by cabbies. The sticker would show contact details for the council and that vehicle's plate number. Council licensing officer Emma Millward said: “A lot of people don’t know where to find the plate number on the vehicles and/or know who to contact if they have any issues with a journey. “These stickers would provide both our contact details and the plate number in an obvious position. "However, we’d also like to be able to pass positive comments on to any drivers, as a thank you and also hopefully a morale boost for them. “We will need to take this before the Regulatory Committee first before we can introduce them but hopefully these will be agreed.” All drivers licensed by Warwick District Council are issued with a badge displaying their photograph and licence number which they must wear. If the driver does not have a badge people are advised never to get into the car. For further information call the council on 01926 456113 or email Licensing@warwickdc.gov.uk Read more: http://leamingtonobserver.co.uk/2012/02 ... 29396.html |

So if people can't find the plate number at present then how is this sticker supposed to help? The mind boggles. Is the plate currently in the boot or something? Ah, I see now - the stickers will be on the inside of the car for the benefit of passengers. "How's my driving" stickers are generally on the rear of the vehicle. Apologies to Emma ![]() Still unimpressed by the point about the badge though

Was going to say that you'd think Emma would have had the decency to make sure her nail varnish matched the colour of the plate, but in fact if you look closely her third finger on each hand does match it Must be in the bye-laws

Hmm, interesting that this still has to go before the committee but the stickers are already made. |
