Rogue cabbies have licences suspended OLDHAM Council has taken action against six taxi drivers convicted of offences including sexual assault and drugs possession. The authority has suspended or revoked the licences of the hackney carriage and private-hire drivers, following a recent hearing before the licensing panel. Wajid Mehmood (26), of Napier Street East, Werneth, had his licence revoked following a conviction for sexual assault. Mohammed Raza (31), of Waterloo Street, Glodwick, had his licence revoked for failing to provide a specimen of breath during a roadside breath test. Nasir Hussain (38), of Latimer Street, Glodwick, had his licence revoked for failing to provide information regarding a driver’s identification. Sajjad Hussain (36), of Frederick Street, Werneth, had his licence suspended for 28 days following a conviction for possession of cannabis. Mohammed Saghir (50), of Lees Road, Clarksfield, had his licence suspended for 10 months following convictions for altering an insurance certificate and driving with no insurance. Wasim Siddique (33) of Oldham Road, Rochdale, had his licence suspended for 28 days following a conviction for battery. All the drivers have 21 days to appeal the decisions. |

Is Oldham licencing off there heads All of them drivers should have the licences removed permanently 28 days for wacky backy possession that muppet could be smoking it, all be it outside the cab and then carrying passengers |

These Asian guys don't seem to take maintenance very seriously, there's some round our way running on part worn tyres, when it comes to the test date they all swap tyres over before they go into the Council. |

When areas such as Oldham have perhaps 90% or more (and perdominantly asian) ownership of vehicles.... can there be surprise at asians being caught? CC |

CC When they do a pull round here every car owned by an English driver goes through or are gived and advisory, when the Asians go through off come the plate and a list of faults follow him out of the door. They look at maintenance as a money loser. |
