Looking at the new york medallion system they have and just thinking why they don't have the same thing in the uk as it would be far better if they have a plate value of every town/city and never delimit just keep restrictions as ph can not be restricted so they'll be a lot of ph but hackney carriage will be limited and they'll be work as the numbers are restricted people will be far better as i know a lot of guys who live in delimited areas but travvel everyday to another area as its limited and they have a plate because then you know they'll always be work i know some of you will be like no against this but i think the medallion system is the best and should be brought into the uk. Cabbies who agree i do love you guys.

Far better for whom?

For owners who never drive, or drivers who will never be able to own?

This would make more sense if you used sentences.

USUALLY DRIVERS DRIVE FROM THE LIMITED AREAS TO THE DELIMITED AREAS TO WORK

Not the other way round in my exoperience and secondly the New York Medallion sytem is a big money spinner for the City council the drivers are having to pay a fortune to acquire one with no guarantee of work for big cities the London system works a lot better in my opinion

That's well anti-capitalist and bordering on communist ideology and even the CCCP realised how crap an idea that was and reverted back to being just Russia.

It's a question I posed to the chap starting this thread.

He indicated that it would be 'far better' to have a system with plate values and restrictions everywhere.

Now it clearly would be 'far better' for those with plates, unless they would be required to pay large sums to keep them.

But I doubt it would be 'far better' for non owners, as is clearly the case in New York.

I'm sure the majority of the country would grab £50K.......the fact is the places with that type of value are few and far between....a fact which alludes most.
