Aberdeen taxi driver says court case hit his business Taxi driver shocked by kidnap claims By Rita Brown Published: 23/07/2010 Bookmark with: AN ABERDEEN taxi driver accused in court of attempted kidnap today claimed the case had left his business in tatters. Terry Thornton said he hadn’t slept since a sheriff cleared a woman of attacking him in a dispute over a fare. Holly Burnett, of Milltimber, was found not guilty of injuring Mr Thornton by biting his hand and ear outside her home on March 19 last year. She claimed it was self defence after the taxi drove off with her in it. The mum-of-two wept in court as she described what she claimed was a terrifying kidnap attempt. But Mr Thornton claimed he was left stunned by the allegations – and the not guilty verdict. |
