Luke Clennell, 25, became aggressive after refusing to pay for a taxi ride between two nightspots in Bristol.
He admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm on one woman and assault by beating on another woman on April 25 last year.
Pushpanjali Gohil, prosecuting, said Clennell got into an argument with the women after a taxi journey.
She said Clennell had been to bars in Whiteladies Road, Clifton, before going to Java nightclub in Park Street and getting the taxi to Preve nightclub in King Street.
Ms Gohil said the row began when Clennell refused to pay towards the taxi fare. When one of the women confronted him, he attacked her.
The court was told the woman was left with a fractured finger and lost earnings as she missed work.
Clennell had no previous convictions. Giles Nelson, defending, said the incident was out of character for his client. He said Clennell had got a job as a receptionist in a gym.
Judge Martin Picton said: "It was really stupid wasn't it?"
He ordered Clennell, of Shelley Way, Horfield, to pay £750 in compensation to the victim with the fractured finger and £100 costs.
