Taxi driver attacked in Bletchley
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted in Bletchley in the early hours of yesterday morning (1/4).
At about 3.45am, a taxi driver collected two women and a man from outside the Xscape building. He took the two women to two separate addresses then asked the man where he wanted to go. The man kept changing his mind, before saying he wanted to be dropped at Portrush Close, Bletchley.
As the driver stopped in the road, at about 4.20am, the man started verbally abusing the driver, before grabbing his clothes and punching him. The offender then got out of the taxi, pulled the driver out, and continued to punch him, before running off.
The 34-year-old victim sustained an injury to his eye and pains in his head, and was taken to Milton Keynes General Hospital by ambulance for treatment. He was released the following day.
The offender is white, slim, in his twenties, around 5ft 5ins, with greyish coloured hair. He was wearing a long sleeved black shirt and was clean shaven.
PC Neil Bowker, from Milton Keynes police station, said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack on an innocent man as he carried out his job. The victim required hospital treatment overnight and lost wages while he did so.
