Taxi driver threatened for cash at knifepointPOLICE are hunting for a man who attempted to rob a taxi driver at knife point in Cheltenham.
Detectives are now appealing for witness to find the criminal after he ran off empty-handed from the incident, which happened at about 10pm on Sunday.
The offender got into the back of a black Ford Mondeo outside the Co-Op in Hester's Way Road before demanding the 30-year-old driver hand over his takings. His victim managed to get out of the car without handing anything over and the man, who was brandishing a knife ran off towards Village Road.
The would-be robber is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, in his early 20s and wearing a light grey hoodie, black gloves and a black scarf over his mouth.
Anyone with information about this crime should call police on 101, quoting incident 619 of April 29.
