Driver claims Aberdeen taxi ranks putting lives in danger Claim Union Street scheme causes havoc A TAXI driver today claimed late-night ranks in Aberdeen were putting people in danger. And Gary Mitchell said cramming the taxis into four small ranks in Aberdeen city centre after midnight has also caused havoc for drivers. The 48-year-old cabbie said buses, cars and taxis are all using Union Street causing a concentration of traffic where there is a lot of people on the move. He said: “People are at risk of getting killed walking out on into the road.” For the full story, pick up a copy of today’s Evening Express or read our digital edition now http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/2785551 |

Union street on a weekend night with all the busses and cars as well as taxis is a recipe for accidents and trouble. Drunk folk think they are bullet proof the way they walk about and it's a wonder there are not more accidents! The rank at the graveyard is the busiest rank of all and positioned not far from a set of lights which just hinder eveyone using the rank, drivers waiting to do u turns, busses blocking you in and punters running infront of you are a nightmare, Stop and give them a mouthfull and thats you're car got dents in it . Other than that they work well lol |
