At the bottom of Frederick street the arrow on the road is for a left turn but there's nothing else to say no right turn. I've seen coaches turn right there, can we? Similarly heading east along George st at the Hanover st junction, the line on the road suggests you have to go straight but there isn't a no right turn sign, although I try to avoid that bit now the lights take ages.

Either Streetview is out of date or I'm looking in the wrong place (Edinburgh). But using Streetview to go down Frederick St. I can see NO arrows on the road for a left turn. Similarly the markings on the road at all the junctions of George/Hanover show arrows for left, right and straight ahead.

In general though, markings on the road are for guidance only and unless there is a roadsign saying otherwise you don't have to follow them ie if theres two lanes and the right hand one has an arrow to turn right you can go straight on as long as it's not a no entry.
