What are the requirements to become a cabni**** these days? Go for it lads, let's see what it takes to come up with a concise definition of the word "cabni****"?  I'll start; you must be denied your own plate and unfettered access to the tools of your trade.  What else? |

A cabby who tugs his forelock to his pimp. And when his pimp demands more, he pays it. Then goes out to work extra hours to make up for his pimp's needs. Someone who pays a rental for his vehicle, then pays his pimp an extra 7|% on top, and when his pimp asks for 10% he pays that without question, knowing that the pimp realising he can get away with it, will come back again and demand even more. Doesn't that sound like a cabni**** to you guys? |

Of course, what you've failed to appreciate is that serf is not an attempt at racism, merely a statement of fact which draws upon the abominably lowly status of african americans during the slave years to explain its severity. I could relate hundreds of similar jokes. But they are inherently racist and not fit for this forum. Why don't you edit yours out?

I do get your meaning Jim. Ive corrected my spelling mistake I fully understand that as a blackcabnigger I really should have known better. Just an observation, the analogy of the word is excellent, but the cab part is a little stereotypical. What about whitewog! then that could apply to everyone prujudiced by the racecard manipulation? |

Cab reflects the whole of the licensed car trade. And that's as it should be. recent experience has shown me that those who fall just short of the higher taxi standard, are no less thinking, put upon and deserving individuals. Those who work for the companies, whether PH or taxi, are equally deserving of consideration in the great scheme of things. And there are no doubt PH firms out there who do recognise the val;ue of their staff, and try to look after them. However, my recent experience is that this is not so. There is one commonality. And that is that in a restricted taxi trade, itys the driver who does the work who gets the bad deal. And its the PH driver in the company who is the last thought by owners. And this is what our politicians have delivered. While the Cardownies, with their connections and alleged PH interests, influence restriction maintenance, and the council protects it own transport interests with restriction, the lowest common denominator they achieve is the subjugation of a grouop of working people who have employment conditions redolent of the American slaves. And that is why the term serf is so poignant. Because it describes a standard that we're all supposed to be protected from. On a wider issue, why would anyone want to vote for independence and hand complete control to a government party that is the architect of such worker abuse? |
