Minicab Companies Fall For Assange Taxi Hoax

A number of minicab companies have fallen for a hoax call asking for taxis for the Ecuadorian embassy.

The Wikileaks founder has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy after requesting political asylum as the British government attempted to extradite him to Sweden to face charges of sexual assault.

Ecuador announced they would grant him asylum and crowds gathered as speculation mounted that he would be leaving to fly to South America.

With protesters standing outside the embassy, a number of wags called taxi companies requesting a cab from Hans Crescent in Knightsbridge to Heathrow airport.

Sadly, the companies did not pick up on the joke and dispatched a car to the area, only to be met by crowded roads and police.

If it had been a false call out of a fire engine or a bomb hoax the callers would end up in jail whats the betting that the police don't even investigate this !

They might have a secret tunnel to Harrods, courtesy of Al Fayed?!
