I know that some of the letters are backwards but what is with the GEN 11 marking on the car? That is the registration number for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!

Blatant TX rip off at the front, is it a Fiat at the back with the sides designed by someone who can draw straight lines, what a joke, the best cab is the NX8 based ones in LWB form, can't beat it for what it offers inside, and it looks a whole lot prettier than the other offerings imo.

I don't like the stubby front at all it's horrible but it seems to be economical on fuel and green so it's got to be better for London

Remember you read it in TAXI

Oh no you didn't, You read it in one of my posts over 2 years ago first :D :D :D :D
Jimbo you know that cap you where going to eat, get the knife and fork out

All apologies accepted :D
The one I test drove looked exactly like the Metro, dont know why they did not put a diesel Genny in though :?:

Instead of having charging points on posts they could have them fitted into the road at ranks, then when you pull on, a pick up drops down and connects with a strip and charges as you move up, just like the old trams but instead of up its down for the connector

The six seater cab allegedly has a
range of between 70 and 100 miles,

And at Night time with lights on even less I'd guess! I don't think we will be seeing many of them anytime soon.

The only electric cars I hear about are usually the very expensive Token vehicles run by the "rich on your money" Trendy Local Authorities to show off their green credentials...and even these have a tendency to fade away before their time as they either don't work well or nobody will use them for fear of being left stranded somewhere near finishing time. #-o

Maybe these are the fuel stations of the future..but just where are they going to generate all that extra electricity from in the first place to replace the oil based energy presently used after the demise of Diesel and Petrol?

Scotland has plenty of electrical generating capacity - far more than our own needs

Who remembers the first mobile phones? Weighed a ton and the battery lasted an hour. Look at them now, just 25 years later.

The only thing holding back this technology has been the reluctance to move away from petroleum based fuels. Considering the sums being made by oil companies and governments, that's hardly a surprise.
It will change now that oil has reached peak production. There simply isn't enough to keep up with increasing worldwide demand.

At a guess, probably the size or the weight. Diesel engines tend to be larger and heavier than petrol units for the same power output.

The future . . apparantly!

Thats if you cover under 100 miles per shift, so thats half a shift for me, and half relying on a back up battery charging engine made by Wankel ! :D

Nevermind it the rotary keeps going, they are high maintenance with rotor tip etc, and the one they are putting in is too small for anything other than limp home ability.
