Police in Barnsley have released CCTV images of two men they would like to speak to in connection with an alleged assault. The assault is believed to have taken place on Thursday, 28 June, at approximately 4.25am. A taxi was hired from Wakefield to take three passengers to Thurnscoe in Barnsley. On arrival in Thurnscoe, the taxi driver is believed to have been assaulted and his takings stolen. Police would like to identify the two men in the image and speak to them, as they may hold vital information to assist with the investigation.Published on Friday 24 August 2012 09:55Police have released a CCTV image of two men suspected of being among a trio who attacked a taxi driver and stole his takings in Barnsley.
The men were two of three passengers who were driven to Thurnscoe from Wakefield by the cabbie, who was assaulted when they arrived at around 4.25am.
Police officers want to speak to the two men in the photos, as well as identify the third man who was with them.
He is described as white, stocky, in his mid 20s and around 5ft 11in.
The third man also had a shaved head and tattoos on both arms, as well as a tattoo on the back of his neck featuring stars.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on June 28, should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 5555 111.
