Taxi driver robbed at gunpoint in OpenshawA taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint as he went to collect a fare in Openshaw.
The victim went to answer a call at an address on Cheeryble Street when two men approached him.
They pointed a gun at the 42-year-old driver and escaped with cash and his mobile phone.
The victim was unhurt in the incident which happened about 1.30am this morning (October 10).
The offenders were two white men in their mid 20s. One was wearing a grey tracksuit and the other was dressed in dark clothing.
Detective Constable Sarah Wright said: “Thankfully the victim was not hurt, although he has been left badly shaken up.
“This man was simply doing his job when he went to this address, only to find himself the victim of an armed robbery.”
