Post subject:  CCTV needs to be implemented in our cabs asap!
Hi am Dan i drive a Hackney cab in Liverpool and some of the things that are happening to the drivers is crazy! i was beaten up by 3 guys 8 weeks ago that left me in hospital for a week, which left me with no money to look after my family or pay my mortgage, and i got no help off the council what so ever? the councils should be helping towards our CCTV Costs, i am currently looking for a 4 camera CCTV system but cheap!!

if you read my post i was attacked 8 weeks ago and got beaten up pritty bad, and the man have got away with it because i had nothing to give to the police IE CCTV images
so am looking for a good but cheap 4 camera system nothing to pricey.

I am sorry to hear what happend to you mate but you say CHEAP at the end of your sentance...do you really rate your safety as CHEAP? If you want cheap buy one off of ebay.

You cant put a price on safety but it seems you are.

yes true but i don't want a top of the range cctv system, just something that does the job, am looking at a few companies at the moment, a lot of them seem to be round about the same price, am going to see a company that's round the corner from me tomorrow a mate got a system off them 3 months ago and he said they where really good and cheap, took him a long time to get an appointment with them but he said it was worth the wait!!

You have to make sure that they show you footage from a taxi during the daytime and also in the evening to see if its actually any use i.e. can you see the peoples faces. Also what does your local LA say about the use of CCTV systems?

We all are mate. We all are :sad:

If you're handy with a soldering iron and are happy with messing with the cars fuses you can get all the kit from Maplins. The cameras are cheap(ish) it's the recorders that cost.
Mate of mine got a basic IR camera which he plugs straight into one of those portable telly things, doesn't record but the punters don't know that. All they see is their faces on the screen so acts as a deterrent.

Yes and that's why I said it was dreadful. TBH with attitude like yours I'm not surprised you got clumped.

As for the point I was making it was why do you need 4 cameras rather than two, but TBH again I now couldn't give a f***.

I'm now waiting for the name of this supa dupa, queue a mile long, supplier, which I'm surprised as a spammer you haven't already put up.

Maybe the plan was to do so in a few more posts time.

do us a favour wined your neck in, you act like this is your forum or something it properly is or one of your mates, look i came on here for a good clean chat and talk to taxi drivers with a brain and good convo, and possibly find a good lead to a reliable CCTV company and parts for my cab, so go hassle some one else MR Mouth!!!!!

If he had stayed he would have said this supa dupa, massive long queue, firm were called such and such.

I mean we are in a massive recession and this firm has a long waiting list to see punters. :---)
