Following the London Taxi Company going into administration and the uncertainty of being able to purchase a suitable new replacement vehicle a Manchester taxi proprietor is prepared to challenge the Council's policy of following London's conditions of fitness for hackney carriages, he has purchased an E7 and has presented the paperwork for it to be tested and licensed, if it is refused a licence then that decision will be challenged in court. Given the Liverpool precedent based on certain wheelchair users having difficulty using vehicles other than the E7 Manchester City Council would appear to be in a difficult position both legally and morally. |

If you think about it then they are gonna have to cos,where are the drivers going to get new cabs from?.Lti (Ltc) has been shooting itself in the foot for years.It really must be the only vehicle manufacturer in the whole world to make their latest model less economical than their previous ones,absolute madness!. |

I don't think the turning circle will be an issue anymore. |

I thought they already allowed the E7 to be licenced, due to the high court ruling. Only the PCO, or as its known now TFL are dragging there heals. http://www.bindmans.com/news-and-events ... g-policies Even though they have found a solution to the steering box, no more new tx cabs are to be made, so whats the alternative, yes the E7 the Vito or any other WA cab |

Part supplies for all former LTI cabs are starting to dry up, due to them being in administration, according to the London forums, garages there are having to order and pay for parts in advance. There have been to many knockers of late and the problem will be here for some time to come. What will be the process in future? If you have a problem with your taxi, the garage will quote the price of the work to be carried out and will want at least the parts to be paid for up front. Quote: I was told by another driver that he was in Ascott's earlier where he was told that Unipart only give Credit Accounts to Garages moving 12,000 pounds worth of parts per week which means smaller garages will suffer and be unable to offer Credit to drivers.
