Now, let me see.

Lies were published about said gentleman.

They were unfounded claims of sexual impropriety.

The BBC, the organisation which published the lies, admitted responsibility.

The BBC are shelling out £185,000 in compensation.

Compare this with:

Lies were published about an eminent cabby.

They were unfounded claims of sexual impropriety.

The web forum which published them is indisputably responsible - it's a matter of public record.

£185,000 is around the average house value in Scotland.

Plus, sadly, a liar too, it would seem according to what I hear. There are many people I have spoken with and when your name is mentioned the word "pervert" seems to crop up in the same sentence. Why is that?

Nope, it's not a crime not to like me. But the difference is that you might have a need for folks to like you; I don't.

Anyway, gave my statement to the Police today. I'm astounded by how professional and helpful the officers were. Particularly given its length and all the information in it about the miscreants and various suspects.

It only augurs well. Just got to sit back and let it all unfold now. And there's no real hurry. Which is great because I can easily put it to the back of my mind and just get on and have a happy christmas. No worries about having to appear in court in the New Year. Or explain it to the council. badgrin:
