And all the above have more rights and protections than your average cabby and in most cases have better salaries, sick pay, holiday pay and pensions.

A taxi driver in Edinburgh would have to more than double his net income at the present date, to be at the same level when I started driving in the early nineties, pro rata.
Now hows that for putting things into perspective?
