To my way of thinking it should be down to the mileage of the vehicle - unless it is blatantly obvious that something is amiss
.For example driver 1. doing 25,000 miles p.a - stating the obvious is going to have 50,000 on the clock after two years. A driver purchasing a vehicle two years behind driver 1. but double shifting it i.e 50,000 p.a would in terms of wear and tear would by the end of year three have 150,000 miles on the clock, some 25,000 miles more than the driver who started two years before him, now on year five. Driver 1. has a vehicle in better condition in terms of wear and tear, but is subject to two MOTs per year - driver 2. has a younger plated cab with more wear and tear (double the mileage of cab 1.) who can still go another two years before an MOT......................NO sense whatsoever.
