Woman sexually assaulted in 'taxi' near Leeds
A woman has been sexually assaulted by a driver after getting into what she believed was a taxi on a night out in Leeds.
Police said the victim got into a dark-coloured saloon car early on Sunday and fell asleep during the ride home.
When she woke, the car was parked in a remote lane and the man got into the back of the car and assaulted her.
Police said the man may have been a genuine taxi driver. An e-fit of the suspect has been released.
He is described as black, aged in his late 20s and slim, but with chubby cheeks.
He spoke little English and was wearing a black shirt.
'Frightening experience' Det Ch Insp Scott Wood, of the West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: "This was an attack on a young lady who believed she was being transported safely home after a night out.
"Instead she was put through a frightening experience.
"I am appealing to anyone who feels they recognise the man involved to get in touch immediately.
"This may have been a genuine private hire vehicle that had been loaned out unofficially or it could have been a genuine taxi driver."
The 20-year-old woman, who got in to the taxi in Duncan Street, believed the attack took place up a small track about five miles from Menston, police added.
