http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-21010873

I'm glad we don't very often get fares up to that one it's bad enough that most are upping the cost to £2 with only Heathrow and Gatwick left not charging out of the top 10 traffic wise

TJ Lally, manager of Premier Taxis in Leeds, said: "I haven't a clue what's going to happen to us because I am either going to have to pass it on to the customer or the drivers are going to have to have to stand it.
Just so long as you don't have to stand it eh.

We are starting to offer the customer the choice of paying the drop off/pick up charge or being droped and picked up in the long stay carparks for free.

which is of course what the airports appear to be after with all their passengers arriving at the terminal on bendy buses reading the adverts or paying through the nose for the "privilege" of being dropped at the terminal and not having to read all the messages from the airports sponsors en route

It must be 10 years + the last time I paid to pick up at an airport.

Ah the IBIS at BHX, it's a cracking drop off point there. As for EMA the garage owners are getting a little bit p!ssed at people dropping off there. I've stopped going to EMA unless the punter pays the drop off charge.

what is the new charge at EMA?,I have'nt been since it was introduced.I've been to leeds/bradford and you have to pay 2quid (passed that onto customers).Doncaster have to drop in car park,15mins free.Whats the system (charge BHX) also?

At EMA it is £1.00 to drop off and £2.20 to pick up. BHX is £1.00 to drop off and last time I went it was £3.50 to park in the multi storey to pick up. I have a discount card for BHX which gives me 3 hours parking for £1.50.

You obviously never go to Stansted then apart from the long stay car park you can't drop off or pick up for free there ! and I doubt the punters would want to be picked up that far from the terminal

I thought there was a free pick up point at Stanstead, well there was when I went there last a few months ago.

Clearly things have changed and punters have got to pay a few quid more.

The only free pick up point at Stansted is a bus ride away. There has not been a free pick up point at the terminal since I have been going there. Now the free drop off has gone and it costs £2.00 to drop off at the terminal.

The times I have gone I've either used the Terminal drop off or the pick up point in the middle which was free for 15 minutes.

Never paid a bean to pick up there, ever.

£4.50 to pick up at Newcastle International airport...Courtesy of the Airport not letting the folk off the plane until they de-iced a little bit of Tarmac between the Plain and Terminal Building.

That's what I heard at least, Not my loss though, Just passed it on to my Client.
