Any new threads on the above issues will be moved into this one, to allow Admin to keep tabs. So please keep to this thread when discussing the above. Alex Well it appears to be true that City Cabs have won the contract for 5 years. The 50+ CRT cabs that habitually congregate out there will now be able to concentrate on serving the Social Work contract instead for the next 3 years, with a year free in discounted fares. So why put on another 41 cabs? Did CRT just expect to win every contract that comes up for tender? Would it not have been prudent, to have waited for the Airport tender result, before diluting their work with more cabs? There will now be 90+ cabs sitting about fighting for the work. Utter madness. But what can be expected from a Committee that has no professional background in business management. A bunch of taxi drivers managing a multi million pound business, again utter madness. |

That'll be City Cabs sharing a tender with a Private Hire Company. A joint tender. Hope you're proud of yourselves. Tourists and Passengers - Have your postcode ready. A new low for the Black Cab Trade. |

£31m taxi contract to cut wait for air passengers EDINBURGH airport passengers will be greeted by uniformed drivers and have to wait no more than five minutes for a taxi under a new £31 million contract awarded today to a City Cabs-Edinburgh City Private Hire joint venture. The single five-year deal from April will replace the current at Scotland’s busiest airport, which include a City Cabs-Central Taxis black cabs consortium and private hire firm Onward Travel. The airport, which handles 9 million passengers a year, said the new contract would also ensure minimum vehicle quality. It said there were no current service standards such as maximum waiting times. A spokesman said: “The new contract will make sure there are always cars available. Some passengers have had to wait for a taxi at night.” http://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/ ... -1-2779650 |

Better service!? Just what the public and tourists need. I rank a mile long of immigrants with no training, knowledge or english language skills. "Welcome to Edinburgh. Scotlands inspiring capital. This is Mohammad (he smiles upon hearing his name), he will be your driver today. Now do you have your destination map & postcode to hand?" |

Oh and you've got to laugh, half of the CRT fleet, sit out at that Airport, and now they are all going to be flushed back into the town. It's got to hurt . |

CC, there is a certain satisfaction when one says, "I told you so" maybe Jim and I, were not the enemy, you once thought? CRT, and City Cabs committees, couldn't be more predictable in their actions but yet, their "members" vote to enhance their personal and financial status. You couldn't make this sort of [edited by admin] up. Truth be told, I think you and Trevor have good hearts, at least for a period in time, but reality plays a different tune. Things change when you find yourself confronted by your own mortality. ![]() Oh and btw, how is Trevor doing, "these days", you never hear from him?

Imagine 185 views of this post and not one of the pillocks could venture any sort of opinion. That's why the trade is fecked. Because Edinburgh taxis and its trade are driven by imbeciles.

Well, the word on the grapevine is, they are all squealing up at CRT towers over City Cabs humping them over the airport. ![]() Picture the scene, CRT is being squeezed between ECPH and City Cabs dividing up all the work. If they are smart, both companies will be going after CRT big time, in an attempt to weaken them even further. Could this be the end for CRT? |

For someone that has zero time for the taxi trade skull, you don't half keep going on about what's going on in it! |
