excellent - so we will now pay council officials to scrutinise how drivers dress - we will further pay for councils to draw up a list of acceptable attire and in due course pay for committee hearings and appeals. These are the same councils who dream up age limits - convictions policies - ignore illegal plying and touting.

Being sarcastic,they tried it here for a while but couldnt enforce it,you can still be a scruffy [edited by admin] with trousers and shirt as modelled by CC

They should have a naked protest :lol:

But taxi drivers could be banned from wearing certain clothing – and there’s a distinctly summer theme to the list. Flip-flops, sports shorts, clothing that is ‘too colourful’ and anything exposing the midriff is also on the black list. ‘The purpose of a driver’s dress code is to seek a minimum standard of dress that provides a positive image of the Hackney carriage and private hire trade,’ the council’s report states. ‘It must enhance a professional image of licensed drivers and ensure public and driver safety is not compromised.’ ‘Acceptable clothing’ includes dress shirts, tops covering the shoulders and footwear that ‘fits around the heel’. So if a minicab firm wants to start up calling themselves Hawaii 5 0 cars - with all their drivers in Hawaiian dress - this rule will ban it? ffs Now LC - that is burdensome legislation
