POLICE Plea To Taxi Driver

POLICE are keen to speak to a taxi driver who dropped a passenger in a Greenock street shortly before emergency services were called to the ‘unexplained’ death of a woman at a flat there.

Detectives made the appeal as they continue to investigate the death of 49-year-old Susan Monkhouse whose body was found at her home at 28 South Street on Wednesday 13 March.

Detective Inspector David Wagstaff said: “We are keen to talk to a taxi driver who picked up a man in Greenock town centre, possibly at or near the taxi rank in West Stewart Street, dropping off the male outside 28 South Street about 5pm.”

The taxi is believed to have been a red Skoda Octavia. The driver is urged to call police on 492500.

Police are awaiting results of forensic pathology tests in relation to the death.
