Leeds taxi driver knifed 13 times during robbery A TAXI driver was stabbed 13 times in the face, chest and arms and told to hand over money or he would be killed, a jury heard.
A court heard Khalid Parvez, 54, suffered multiple injuries after being stabbed by Joshua Stevens after he drove a woman to a street in Beeston, Leeds.
Details of the attack were heard at the trial of Michael Walker, 22, who is accused of taking part in the robbery in the early hours of October 28 last year.
Stevens, 20, has already pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and robbery.
Leeds Crown Court was told the attack happened after Mr Parvez, from Batley, a driver with Ace Cars, drove passenger Stephanie King to Heath Croft Drive, Beeston.
The court heard Miss King had been to a party in the Meanwood area earlier in the evening and had been in contact with Walker and Stevens.
She agreed to get a taxi to meet them around 3am.
Mehran Nessiri, prosecuting, said Stevens was carrying a large knife and said: “Give me your money of I will kill you.”
Mr Parvez then saw Walker was carrying a knife that was slightly smaller.
Mr Parvez gave £25 to Stevens who said “that’s not enough” before stabbing him. He suffered a facial fracture and other wounds to his body and arms.
Mr Nessiri said Walker pulled his friend away and the pair then walked back to Stevens’s home, on Heath Croft Crescent, with Miss King.
The court heard Stevens washed blood off himself and put the clothes he had been wearing into a carrier bag.
A resident went to help Mr Parvez and raised the alarm. Police found a knife containing Mr Parvez’s blood under a tree.
Walker, of Helston Green, Middleton, denies robbery.
