Quiet family funeral, no flowers, donations to local charities please. In respect for all who have suffered misery, poverty, injustice and loss of dignity there will be no plaudits of greatness, pedestal building and elevating such qualities as uncomproming, singlemindedness and ruthless to virtues of great leadership. And finally all references that might lump all trade unionists, terrorists, militants, socially or economically deprived, former mine workers, former steelworkers, former skilled tradesman of any kind, Scots, irish, Tory predecessor, argentines, school kids without milk, nationalists, republicans ...together as one and the same will be avoided. Aye right. |
