Taxi petition removed from Brighton and Hove council website

Taxis in Paston Place, BrightonTaxis in Paston Place, Brighton

An e-petition has been pulled from a council website after complaints about its content.

It was launched by Stefanie Krachan-Lashbrook who called for improved taxi licensing in Brighton and Hove. But it was removed from the city council’s website yesterday afternoon (April 28).

The petition, which was launched on Sunday, April 21, alleged that Brighton and Hove’s taxi drivers do not abide by any laws and that the council was unable to enforce them effectively and protect the public adequately.

Under the council’s own guidance an e-petition can be rejected if it “contains intemperate, inflammatory, abusive or provocative language” or “is defamatory, frivolous, vexatious, discriminatory or otherwise offensive”.

Despite being online for five days the petition had failed to attract any signatures.

A Brighton and Hove City Council spokeswoman said: “We have removed the e-petition because it didn’t adhere to our e-petitions guidelines.”

This woman is a f***ing fruit cake of the highest order.

Actually surprised she isn't driving a taxi herself.

Sounds like it. The lady doing the videos has nothing better to do. I'm wondering if one of them disabled spaces are one of hers? Maybe a video of her walking around unaided then posted to the DWP will stop her?
