Three accused of racist attack on taxi driver THREE men accused of carrying out a racist attack on a South Tyneside taxi driver will stand trial. Paul Harrison, Michael McTavy, both 26, and Zac Winter, 27, allegedly assaulted the driver and hurled racist abuse at him outside the Last Orders pub in Boldon Lane, South Shields. The trio are all accused of punching him, leaving him with a chipped tooth, cut lips and a bruised face, and damaging his Mercedes car. They all pleaded not guilty to charges of racially aggravated assault and criminal damage at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court. Glenda Beck, prosecuting, told magistrates that the case could be dealt with by them. She said: “The driver was waiting to pick some people up but they don’t come and he drove off. “We say the defendants then turn up and swear at him using racist language, before all three of them punch him.” Charlton James Carr, defending, told the court that his clients claim the driver was the aggressor. Magistrates accepted jurisdiction of the case, and a trial, set to last one-and-a-half days, was arranged for July 8 and 9. Harrison, of West Stevenson Street, McTavy, of Bainbridge Avenue, and Winter, of Salisbury Street, all South Shields, were granted bail until then on the conditions that they do not contact prosecution witnesses and stay out of the Last Orders pub. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/news/crim ... -1-5635762 |

somehow i think there more than meet eye here they say he start the trouble an he say all 3 hit him something not sound right to me |

if it as it say then why even bring race into it it look to me like any other incident any driver can get from 3 idiots what need finding is did he agrevate a bad situation or was he just set upon for no reason cabby no lie all cabby honest and trusty i no think |
