Horror stabbing attack by thug on Leeds taxi driver A thug inflicted life-threatening injuries on a taxi driver by stabbing him repeatedly in the head and body while high on drugs. Victim Khalid Parvez, 54, was left groaning in a pool of blood after the horrific knife attack by Josh Stevens, 20. Stevens was jailed for seven years and three months on Friday after pleading guilty to robbery and causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Leeds Crown Court heard the attack happened on Heathwood Drive, Beeston, in the early hours of October 28 last year after the driver dropped a young woman off there to meet Stevens and another man. Mehran Nassiri, prosecuting, said Stevens was carrying a large kitchen knife when he approached the vehicle and said: “I will kill you if you don’t give me your money.” The driver handed over some bank notes but was told: “It’s not enough. Give me it all.” Stevens, of Helston Green, Middleton, then took the car keys from the ignition and stabbed the victim repeatedly in his face, hands and upper chest. He suffered 12 stab wounds in total. The court heard he tried to use his spare key to try to start the engine but was unable to because he was so severely injured. A local resident raised the alarm after hearing the disturbance. Mr Parvez required plastic surgery to his injuries, suffered a fractured eye socket and has been unable to return to work. After his arrest Stevens told officers he had “blacked out” at the time of the incident after taking M-Cat and cocaine. Richard Reed, mitigating, said Stevens was full of remorse and shame for what he had done and accepted that he would be facing a lengthy prison sentence. He said Stevens had moved away from Leeds in a bid to get over his drug problems and he committed the offence after making the mistake of returning to the city. Jailing Stevens, judge Neil Clark said: “It seems clear that drink and drugs are the route cause of all the problems you have caused.” source: http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/n ... -1-5662623 |

No his mistake was to nearly kill someone merely doing their job. Let's hope his next drugs hit is some super strength iffy gear, and from that he never returns.
