Still paid to much in my opinion, if they were true volunteers with a charitable nature they would be giving their time, vehicle and services for free and not using it as a tax free dodge to top up their pension income.

Seeing as they do not need to pay high taxi type insurance rates or any LA vehicle licences then their 50ppm is not so far away from what we are left with after deducting these two costs....the greedy fechers.

it doesnt say if thats loaded miles (=25p/mile average) or for every mile

It's a start, but isn't 50p a mile above the 'carrying on a business' rate?

I thought the actual allowance was 45p up to 10,000 miles and then 25p for every mile thereafter :?
